Onggi Canopy: Architecture for Non-Human Entities

Imagine designing architecture for not only us humans but what about those considered nonhuman. Well, this design concept, allows both human and non-human entities can coexist with one another in the center walkway of a shopping center with this canopy-like structure here in Testaccio, Italy. As for the non-human entity, there were a plethora of food dishes to research but one that took an interest to investigate was Kimchi, a Korean side dish that consists of fermented vegetables. While investigating the fermentation of Kimchi, the Korean pot known as "Onggi" was brought up into question, and in a way, it's a piece of architecture for the LAB Bacteria. With that, it was decided to expand the design further by creating my own "Onggi" pot and implementing it with a steel Voronoi canopy structure. By doing this, it will allow not just the non-human entity to ferment above but allows the citizens of Testaccio to immerse themselves in the center walkway and connect with each other like never before.
